High Park Volunteer Fire Department provides fire and rescue services to a primary area of 5.4 square miles with a population of 1,276 living in our area. Some of the big concerns in our area are US Highway Route 30, farms, gas stations, five mobile home parks, Allegheny Power, auto shops, medical buildings, major commercial businesses that work with hazardous materials, a propane gas company and Texas Eastern gas lines.
High Park also provides mutual aid to approximately 100 square miles which includes but not limited to all of Hempfield Township, Penn Borough, Penn Township, City of Jeannette, Greensburg and North Huntington Township.
The department runs approximately 250 calls a year which consist of fire, rescue, medical, automatic fire alarms and public service calls.
High Park has the honor of being the first rescue to have rescue tools in the area and we at the department hold that as a great honor. High Park firefighters undergo hours of training a year to continue to provide our communtiy and surrounding areas with the best services possible.
